Release notes

What's new in DubMog — October 2026.

October 23, 2026

October brought DubMog to two new places, the Windows PC and the Mac, and a lot more on iPhone, Android, Chrome and Edge, and on the web. Here is the round-up, in plain language.

Chrome and Edge: the extension

The extension is now called DubMog: Real-Time Dubbing & Video Translator on both stores. What changed this month:

  • A transcript you can keep (October 10). Every translated line of your dub is kept with its time. Read it, Copy all, or Download .txt, during or after the video, in Standard and Pro Live. It stays on your computer and DubMog never uploads it; it’s cleared when you close the browser, so download it to keep it.
  • Right-click → “Dub this video with DubMog” (October 12). It gives the tab permission, opens the panel and starts, so you no longer have to find the toolbar icon first. The free Live taste now waits for sound before it starts counting.
  • The Pro member rate, plain-language errors, your language first (October 14). Pro members’ monthly minutes now stream Pro Live at the member rate (below). A sentence cut off by a pause is dubbed at once instead of late. Error messages say what to do, with a Try again link. The first dub language follows your browser’s language instead of defaulting to English.
  • An easier first run (October 16). A one-time “Keep DubMog one click away” pin step, and DubMog’s own pages and the store pages now say “Nothing to dub on this page” instead of offering Start.
  • Business seats and 36 languages (Chrome, October 23; Edge after its review). A Business seat holder sees a Personal | Business tab with the seat’s Tokens, and the panel now speaks 36 languages.

The free Standard mode is unchanged: 30 minutes a day without an account, unlimited with a free one, 38 dub languages in Chrome and 70+ in Edge’s free mode. What the free mode includes → · How to use it in Microsoft Edge → · How fast is real-time dubbing, measured →

Now on Windows

DubMog for Windows went into the Microsoft Store on October 15 and is now on version 1.1.0. Press Start and it dubs whatever your PC is playing, live: a lecture in the browser, a call in a meeting app, a film in a video player. No tab to pick, no extension needed. It runs Pro Live only, so you hear the natural voice in 80+ languages, with a live transcript.

  • Free trial, no sign-in. A guest can press Start and hear Pro Live for a few minutes before signing in.
  • The original gets quieter while the dub speaks. The “Original volume” slider sets how quiet (20% by default, 100% for no ducking).
  • Captions on screen. Switch on “Captions on screen” and the newest lines of the dub appear as a strip at the top or bottom of the display, over any app.
  • Ctrl+Shift+D starts or stops dubbing from any app. The tray icon does the same.
  • “Play the dub on.” Send the dub to headphones while the original keeps playing on the speakers for everyone else.
  • It needs Windows 11. On Windows 10, Windows cannot keep DubMog’s own voice out of the capture, so the app says so and points you to the Chrome or Edge extension instead.

Now on the Mac

DubMog for Mac reached the Mac App Store on October 21. Pick the app or window that is playing, or your microphone, and hear it in your language as it plays: videos, online courses, streams, calls. The free Standard mode uses the Mac’s own voices; Pro Live adds the natural voice in 80+ languages. It needs macOS 14 or later, and it is the same purchase as the iPhone app, so one account and one balance cover both. DubMog for Mac →

Dub a File: hand DubMog a video, get it back dubbed

On Android, Dub a File arrived in 2.2.0 at the start of the month: pick a video, and DubMog dubs it in the background and gives you back a finished video to save or share, without you watching it play. Since 2.2.6 (October 20) a line that is hard to translate no longer stops the job.

On iPhone, 2.10 (October 22, rolling out over the week) brings the same Dub a File from your Camera Roll or Files, with a choice of export size, 720p, 1080p or the original, and the natural Pro Cinematic voices for your files, where only the speech uses energy.

iPhone: 2.8, 2.9 and 2.10

  • 2.8 (October 9): the Pro member rate (below) and Invite a Friend: give 30 minutes of Pro energy, get 30 minutes when your friend joins.
  • 2.9 (October 14): in Pro Live you hear the dub about a second sooner. If the microphone cannot hear a video playing on your phone, DubMog points you to Dub a Video or Dub Any App within seconds. The newest translated line stays in full view, including on smaller iPhones. Dub Theater fixes: pausing no longer cuts the dubbed video short, and videos from the Files app export again.
  • 2.10 (October 22): Dub a File (above), more reliable translations in every language (when the main translator is busy, the backup now answers in your language, not in English), and DubMog Business for teams (below).

Android: 2.2.0 to 2.2.6

  • 2.2.0 (October 3): Dub a File.
  • 2.2.3 (October 9): dubbing a video stops by itself when the video ends, so short clips cost less energy; dubbing starts more reliably on weak connections and the app signs you back in automatically; a clearer message when there is no internet; layout fixes for small phones and large text; Invite a Friend.
  • 2.2.4 (October 17): clearer microphone messages that say exactly what to tap.
  • 2.2.6 (October 20): Dub a File keeps going when a line is hard to translate.

DubMog Business: seats for teams

Since October 22 a company can buy DubMog for its people: $19.99 per seat a month, or $199.99 per seat a year, from one seat. Every seat is a full Pro for one person, Pro Cinematic and Pro Live voices, no ads, clean exports, the member rate, with 800 Tokens a month (about 400 minutes of Pro Live at the member rate; unused Tokens do not carry over). The buyer becomes the team admin: one invoice with the company name and tax ID, invite links by email, add or remove seats, move a seat to another person. Seats work today in the Chrome extension (Edge after its review), in the Web Studio and in the iPhone app; the other apps follow.

On iPhone, Business comes with team packs of 1,000 and 3,000 Tokens, and there is now a third personal pack, 300 Tokens for $6.99, beside the 60 and 180.

The Pro member rate, now in every app

Pro Live uses 3 energy for every minute it runs, because it runs the fastest engine. Since October 9, a Pro member’s monthly minutes stream Pro Live at 2 instead: a 600-minute month covers about 300 minutes of Pro Live, 50% further than before. Packs stay at 3, and never expire. The member rate is on in the iPhone and Android apps (October 9), the Chrome and Edge extension (October 14), DubMog for Windows (October 16) and DubMog for Mac. The Web Studio in your browser stays at 3.

Prices, for the record

Pro is $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year, with 600 minutes of energy a month. Packs: 60 minutes $1.99, 180 minutes $4.99, and on iPhone 300 Tokens $6.99; packs never expire. Business is $19.99 per seat a month or $199.99 a year. Standard stays free on every platform that has it: unlimited in the phone apps, free on the Mac, and 30 minutes a day (unlimited with a free account) in Chrome and Edge. Audio is processed in the moment via Google’s Gemini API and is not stored.

One rule to remember, still: sign in with the same method everywhere. Apple, Google and email are separate accounts even with the same address.
