This Privacy Policy explains what information DubMog (“DubMog,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use the DubMog mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. DubMog is operated by Octag AI LLC, and is contactable at hello@dubmog.com. By using the app you agree to this policy.
01 Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in (including with Sign in with Apple), we receive a name and email address, and we create a unique account identifier for you. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple’s private relay address rather than your real one. You can also use DubMog as a guest without signing in; in that case we create an anonymous account identifier for you and do not collect your name or email until you choose to sign in.
Purchases
When you subscribe to Pro or buy an energy pack, the purchase is processed by Apple. We do not receive your card details. We do receive and store a record of your entitlements (whether a subscription is active and how much usage you have left) so the app works correctly across your devices.
Usage and app activity
To power features like your watch history and recommendations, we store activity such as the movies you link (title and identifiers), the languages you select, and how long a session ran. We also collect basic diagnostic and performance data to keep the app stable.
Microphone and speech
DubMog needs microphone access to translate live speech. Audio is captured only while you are actively using a translation session.
Advertising data (free tier)
If you use DubMog for free, we show ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect device and usage identifiers. On Apple devices, ad tracking is governed by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency — you control it in your device settings. Pro subscribers do not see ads.
Website, demo, and launch list
Our website, including the in-browser demo, uses Google Firebase and Google reCAPTCHA to prevent abuse, plus basic analytics to understand traffic. The live demo sends the audio or text you provide to Google for translation the same way the app does, and does not retain it. If you join our launch list, we collect the email address you submit (stored in our database) only to notify you about availability — you can ask us to remove it any time at hello@dubmog.com.
02 How we use information
- To provide the core service: translating and dubbing speech in real time.
- To keep you signed in across devices and apply your subscription and energy balance.
- To power history, recommendations, and curated content.
- To show and measure ads on the free tier.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
03 Service providers we share with
We use trusted third parties to operate the app. They process data only to provide their service to us. Each has its own privacy policy:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
04 Data retention
We keep account and entitlement information for as long as your account is active. Activity logs are kept to provide history and improve the service, and are deleted or anonymized when no longer needed. As noted above, audio and transcripts are not retained by us.
05 Your choices and rights
- Delete your account. You can delete your account from within the app. This removes your DubMog account data. Some records may be retained where required by law.
- Microphone permission. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings; translation features will stop working until you re-enable it.
- Manage subscriptions. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings, not inside DubMog.
- Ad personalization. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or deletion). Contact us at hello@dubmog.com to exercise them.
06 Children
DubMog is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
07 Security and international transfers
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours; where they do, they apply appropriate safeguards.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
