The most-requested feature in our store reviews is live: once DubMog has dubbed a video, you can keep the result. Export lands the dubbed video in your camera roll or Files, or hands it straight to the share sheet.
What it does
Dub Theater already voiced a video in your language while it played. Export takes that same dub and writes it into a new video file, so the translation travels with the clip — to a group chat, a class, a family member who doesn't speak the original language, or just your own library for later.
You choose where it goes: Photos, Files, or the Share sheet. The original file is never modified.
How to export
- Open Dub a Video, pick a video you own or are authorized to use, choose the language you want to hear, and let the dub run to the end.
- When it finishes, tap Export and choose a destination.
- Longer videos take longer to write — the app tells you when it's done, and it no longer blocks the screen while it works.
Good to know
- Export works on iPhone (2.1 and later) and Android (2.0.4 and later).
- Videos whose audio is protected by the app that plays them can't be captured, so they can't be dubbed or exported — DubMog tells you instead of guessing.
- Only export content you own or are authorized to use. DubMog translates the audio you supply; it doesn't grant rights to anyone else's work.
Why it matters
A live dub is a moment. An exported dub is something you can hand to someone. That's the difference between "watch this with me" and "here, watch this" — and it's the thing people kept asking us for.
